The new season of ‘Bigg Boss 19’ has brought a surprising face into the house, singer and music composer Amaal Mallik. Known for creating melodies for almost a decade, Amaal has now decided to step away from the studio and step into the reality TV spotlight.
So, what made Amaal Mallik say yes to a show as intense and unpredictable as ‘Bigg Boss’? The singer says it was all about showing the world who he really is.

“It’s been almost 10 years for me in this industry, but people have often misunderstood me whenever I’ve spoken about the reality of how it works,” Amaal shared. “I want the audience to see me for who I am, not just my songs.”
Amaal admits that he has faced situations where big producers have dropped him from films, but instead of sulking, he takes it in his stride. “Whenever I am removed from projects, I don’t take it to heart. If I lose work, I go on a holiday. I don’t let these things affect me,” he said with a smile.
While his songs are widely loved, Amaal feels that his face is not as well recognized. “People should know that it’s Amaal Mallik who made this music. Sometimes they confuse me with my brother Armaan, and other times with different actors,” he revealed.
With a laugh, he explained how often people mistake him for someone else. “If I wear a beanie, they think I’m Aditya Roy Kapur. If I grow my beard, they call me Arjun Kapoor. When I slim down, I get mistaken for Vicky Kaushal, and if I grow my hair long, people think I’m Ranveer Singh!”
“People know my songs, but they don’t know my habits, my vibe, or how I think. Sometimes what gets written in the media creates a different picture of me. I want to change that. I’m not subtle or diplomatic, but I will show my real self inside the game in a calm, non-aggressive way,” he explained.
A few months ago, Amaal made headlines for openly talking about differences within his family. However, he now assures that things are fine on that front.
